You are still you, mama.
Hi mama!
I know a lot of new moms wonder if they’ll ever have “a life” again.
Things change; you are now someone’s mom, and it is likely they will occupy 99% of your thoughts and your phone memory. Yet, you are still you. And you should try to make time for things you love doing; give yourself permission to lead a full and happy life.
I can still do yoga, I still read my cheesy fantasy romance books before bed, and every morning I tend to my 25 plants.
I also remind myself now that I get to do a lot of things I didn’t get to do before.
I get to watch a little person discover new things every day.
I am now consistently infected by curiosity and wonder.
I laugh more than I ever have.
My heart melts every time I get to hear Emi say “mama”.
Life is not as it was; it is now, so much more.

COOK: I seriously make this every single week; JJ and Emi are obsessed with it. I also make it with berries, and it’s perfect for a quick breakfast or a snack.
BEAUTY: I cut my hair because I got tired of leaving the salon looking like a poodle, but TikTok has me wondering, what is the curly version of a mob wife bob?
MINDFULNESS: It can be hard to stay in the “joyful motherhood” vibe. Here are 5 positive thinking techniques to rewire your brain.
CRAFT: I love to crochet but haven’t picked up a needle since Emi was born. I might get back into it with this cute project.
HOME: Did you get those sticky corners to childproof your coffee table? Did they fall off 5 minutes later? Here are some Kid-Friendly Coffee Tables.

April is National Garden Month. I didn't need an excuse to get more plants, but we added some Lavender and English Sage to celebrate the occasion.
Should we embrace our inner control freak or let her go?
What is intuitive eating?

MOVEMENT: This is not a drill. Emi is taking some baby steps! She also loves loading up her little wagon and taking it for a spin.
SENSORY: We're still pretending it’s spring in the Southern Hemisphere, so we’ll be doing some flower arranging to further embrace our faux spring spirit.
MUSIC: We're still in our percussion era, but I’m already eyeing this for when she’s a bit older.
LANGUAGE: I only know five kid songs, and I’m pretty sure Emi is onto me, so I’ll be performing this new hit this week.
MINDFULNESS: Teaching mindfulness to small kids is a challenge, but it’s okay to start small and just plant a little seed. Click here for some ideas.
NATURE: I’m guilty of being a homebody, but seeing how much Emi loves the outdoors is a big motivation to get out of the house. Here are five nature play ideas.
SOCIAL: Papa and Emi are planning a big camping trip with her friends. Only papas are allowed, and I’m sure I’ll get a little FOMO. But what a lovely idea!
