Learning to grow.

Hi mama!

Another week of motherhood begins, and here we are, ready to dive in!

After celebrating Mother's Day, I'm feeling inspired to prioritize growth. It's important to be gentle with ourselves as we navigate the journey of motherhood, acknowledging that the way we parent will evolve. We are also growing daily and learning to be the best mamas for our little ones.

So, as we embark on this new week, let's take a moment to breathe deeply, trust our instincts, and open our hearts to the growth and joy that motherhood brings.

Here's to embracing the journey and all the beautiful moments it holds.

EAT: I’ll make a staple in our house this week: the three-bean chili. I love how easily it comes together and of course, leftovers! Pro tip: use leftovers to make breakfast burritos the next day.

LISTEN: Emi and I are jamming to Rosario Alfonso, if you like chill old-school Latin vibes, and the ukulele check her out.

PLAY: Parallel play is not just for kids. If you only have one little one you can still enjoy the benefits of parallel play by joining in the fun. Additionally, you don’t have to stick to playing with their toys. You can also do things you love and are appropriate for your child like coloring, yoga, and reading.

The only children are alright, here’s why.

30-minute cleaning formula to try this Friday.

MOVEMENT: Emi is officially walking! Which opens so many amazing opportunities in this category that I can’t wait to share. Stay tuned :)

SENSORY: This Ikea wooden crate sensory table hack is genius!

MUSIC: And don’t forget, music is a wonderful sensory experience! Click here to check out 5 Auditory Sensory Experiences.

LANGUAGE: How many books should you read to your toddler? The consensus among experts is five books. If you find this number intimidating, here are some tips to help you hit that number every day:

  • Read them books you enjoy reading. Remember, your little one can sense your excitement or dislike for reading.

  • Have a schedule that is easy for you. For example, I read my little one 2 books in the afternoon, and 3 before bed.

  • Pick up books every week from the library to keep your material fresh.

NATURE: If you have a window, you might want to get into bird watching. Emi spends a lot of time looking out her window spotting her bird friends. We even planted some Lavender and Sage to lure in hummingbirds and butterflies. This is a great activity for our little ones to enjoy a mindful moment and observe their surroundings. It can also be an amazing language opportunity during which we can describe the animals we see and sing songs.

ART: I know there are a lot of Hungry Caterpillar fans out here so I had to share this craft I found online.

PRACTICAL: It’s hard to know if it’s too soon to involve our little ones in house activities, but here’s a great IG reel with appropriate life skills for ages 12-14 months.
