Get Inspired with Sensory Play & Dive into Our Latest Reads
Hi mama,
You may have noticed that my Sensory Play ideas are quite straightforward. I tend to focus on developing particular skills rather than following themes, but I’m always in awe of the mamas creating GORGEOUS sensory play setups.
While in the past I’ve focused on areas where I feel I can bring the most value, I also want this email to be a comprehensive, activity-packed resource that delivers what you’re looking for.
To achieve this, I’m adding a new section to my weekly email The Sensory Corner featuring your weekly dose of sensory play inspiration.
And in the spirit of hyping up fellow moms living their best sensory play life, if you have a setup you’re particularly proud of, please email me—I would love to feature you.
Scroll all the way down to see the first-ever feature.

EAT: Every Monday, I cook a pork roast, and while this recipe has been a favorite lately, I’m trying something a bit different tonight with a Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Cream Sauce. I’m excited to see how it turns out!
READ: If you’re new here, hi! I’m a book addict currently on a quest to read 23 books before heading back to Michigan in December. Last week’s book was The Firekeeper’s Daughter. At first, I thought this book might feel a bit too young because it was set in a real high school environment but I loved how much it went into Native American culture and traditional ceremonies. I’m so glad this book exists. This week, I’m diving into Clariel a prequel to a YA fantasy series I love called Old Kingdom. If you’re keeping tabs, this is book 5 out of 23.
BTS: Emi isn’t in school yet, but that won’t stop me from doing our version of a first day of school photo up. Plus, Papa technically goes "back to school" for work, so it’ll be nice to have these memories. I got this cute template from Etsy and it was super easy to edit on Canva. This is how mine turned out 🥰

* I changed the “favorite color” section to a “we are living in” section because we’ll likely move around a bit.

SENSORY: I know at this point you are ready to see the new Sensory Play inspo section, and this is not it 🙃. But if you are interested in a practical tool to use in your setups I love this set of stainless steel pots and pans.
Keep scrolling to see the new sensory corner section!
LANGUAGE: We are currently obsessed with the book Barnyard Dance. Emi loves to stump her feet, clap her hands, and spin as we read along. It is the cutest thing!
MINDFULNESS: I just realized I never shared my August affirmations, but there are still two weeks left, and better late than never! Click here to download the free pdf. I included some school-themed ones for the older kiddos. ❤️
PRACTICAL SKILLS: Quilting for toddlers? Yes, please! I found this cute idea on Instagram, click here to see it.
ART: During our last art session, Emi asked me to draw a “burdy”—it was terrible. So, that night, I went to YouTube and searched “how to draw birds EASY” and found some pretty good tutorials. I also stumbled upon this fantastic channel: Art for Kids Hub.

I know a lot of you are looking for back-to-school ideas so here’s one of my favorites!
This might turn into a mommy crush session because I’m absolutely in love with Andrea’s setups. You NEED to check out her Instagram profile, for more BTS-themed activities.
Also, how cute is this?! 😭
