Beating the Winter Blues

Toddler Activities for the week.

Hi mama,

I hope you and your Valentines had a lovely weekend filled with treats and cuddles. Emi had an absolute blast jumping on the trampoline and sharing blueberries with her friend L. Watching them play was such a sweet reminder of how precious these early friendships are and how important it is to nurture them.

I’ll admit, I tend to keep to myself at home, especially during the colder months. But I’m realizing how much we all benefit from getting out, staying social, and finding ways to connect. If you’re feeling a little cooped up, I see you. Stay cozy, but also watch for opportunities to get out. Local libraries are usually a great resource for playtime and socializing!

In joyful motherhood,
Liz

Week 2: Nurturing Love Challenge

Heart-Themed Sensory Bin
Fill a bin with heart-shaped objects (cookie cutters, felt hearts, pom-poms) and let your little one explore textures, scoop, and sort. A simple way to keep little hands busy!

Watering Plants
Show some love to your indoor plants! Let your child help water them while talking about how we take care of living things. Bonus: It’s a great practical life skill!
If you have older toddlers they might enjoy this plant observation printable.

Color Matching
Gather small objects in different shades of red, pink, and purple, and have your little one sort them by color. A fun and simple way to build early learning skills!

Love-Themed Story Time
Snuggle up and read books about love, kindness, and friendship. Emi is enjoying this adorable book Papa got her for Valentine’s Day, I Love You, My Cuddle Bug.

I Love Nature Affirmations
Step outside (even for just a few minutes!) and say simple affirmations together: I love the trees, I love the sunshine, I love the fresh air. It’s a small but meaningful way to encourage gratitude for the world around us. Find more affirmations here.

Nature Walk
Bundle up and head outside for a short nature walk. Look for heart-shaped leaves, collect small treasures, or simply enjoy the fresh air together. These little figurines are great companions to spark curiosity and creativity.

Love-Themed Memory Game
Make a DIY memory game with matching heart shapes or love-themed images. A great way to encourage focus and observation skills while having fun! Here’s our free printable version.

Whether you’re staying in or venturing out this week, I hope these little moments bring joy and connection to your days. Sending you warmth and love! ❤️
