Easy Valentine's Day Activities
Love-Filled Activities for Toddlers
I love Valentine’s Day. Growing up in Puerto Rico, we celebrated it as Día del Amor y la Amistad, a day of love and friendship. My mom and I would put together little Valentines and treats for our loved ones, making it a sweet and special tradition.
Now, I’m looking forward to sharing that same love and joy with my two special Valentines. This week’s activities are all about celebrating love in its many forms through kindness, creativity, and connection. I hope they bring some extra warmth to your days!
In joyful motherhood,
Liz
Week 2: Nurturing Love Challenge
Family Love Affirmations
Sit together and share words of love and encouragement. Take turns saying something kind about each other "I love how you make me laugh" or "You give the best hugs!" These small affirmations create a big impact.
Taking Care of Our Clothes
We can show appreciation for what we have by making laundry time special. Let your little one help sort, fold, or match socks while talking about how caring for our things is a way to show gratitude.
Threading Heart Shapes
Cut out heart shapes from cardboard and punch holes around the edges. Let your child thread yarn or shoelaces through the holes for a fun fine motor activity that strengthens little hands!
Story Time with Puppets
Bring books to life with puppets (or DIY sock puppets!). Act out a love-themed story together and wrap up the story with a cozy cuddle session.
Making Valentine’s Cards
Set up a simple craft station with paper, stickers, and crayons, and let your child create valentines for friends, family, or even neighbors. Handmade love is the best kind!
Kindness Practice
Brainstorm small acts of kindness, such as giving a compliment, helping a sibling, or sharing a toy. Encourage your little one to pick a few and spread love throughout the week!
Yoga
Slow down and stretch together with some simple heart-opening yoga poses. A great way to connect while focusing on movement and mindfulness. Need some inspo? Emi likes to follow the positions in this sweet book.
I hope you and your little one find joy in these simple ways to celebrate love this week. Wishing you a Valentine’s filled with sweet moments and happy hearts! 💕
