Love-Themed Activity Challenge for Toddlers
Part 1 of Nurturing Love 30-Day Challenge
Another month, another activity challenge! I’m so excited to share this month’s activity calendar filled with activities inspired by different types of love. ❤️
Based on your feedback in our Facebook group, I’ve incorporated more practical skills and mindfulness, which felt like a perfect fit for this month’s theme: Nurturing Love. From simple acts of care to playful moments of connection, each activity is designed to help you and your little one create loving memories together.
I hope you enjoy this month’s challenge and find new ways to connect, grow, and celebrate love in all its forms.
In joyful motherhood,
Liz
Week 1: Nurturing Love Challenge
I Am Love Affirmations
Start the day with positive affirmations. Look in the mirror with your little one and say loving phrases like “I am kind,” “I am loved,” and “I am a good friend.” Let them come up with their own, too!
Belly Breathing
Practice deep belly breaths together by placing a stuffed animal on your child’s tummy as they lie down. Breathe in slowly through the nose and out through the mouth, watching the stuffed animal rise and fall. A simple, calming way to introduce mindfulness!
Loving Our Space
Make tidying up feel special by reframing it as caring for your home. Play music, set a small goal, and clean together. You can also take this opportunity to talk to your little one about how keeping things tidy is an act of love for your space.
Heart Collage
Cut out hearts from colorful paper or magazines and let your little one create a collage with colors and images they love. They can glue, layer, and decorate however they like, this is perfect for fine motor skills and creative expression!
Big to Small Sorting
Gather objects of different sizes (toys, spoons, blocks) and encourage your child to sort them from biggest to smallest. A fun way to introduce early math concepts while practicing patience and observation! You can also print hearts in different sizes for a love-themed version. ❤️
Love-Themed Story Time
Choose books that celebrate love, kindness, and friendship. Snuggle up and read together, then talk about the different ways we show love to one another. Emi and I will be reading one of our favorites I Am Love by Susan Verde.
Dance Party!
Turn up the music and dance your hearts out! Whether it’s a slow sway or a high-energy jump-fest, moving together is a joyful way to connect. You can also ask your little one which songs they love the most and put together a playlist, this is a great language opportunity!
