Monthly Reading Wrap-Up #2

Toddler Books We Loved at 16 months old

Welcome back to this month's toddler reading wrap-up! This month’s list is full of fun, engaging, and interactive books that my little one has absolutely adored. Whether we’re laughing out loud, exploring new places, or getting active with some farmyard fun, these books have made reading time extra special.

From classics to activity-based books, we’ve got something for every mood. These picks are perfect if you’re looking for books to spark joy and encourage learning with your toddler.

Let’s dive in!

1. Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems

Knuffle Bunny is an absolute classic that did not disappoint! It’s a hilarious yet heartwarming tale of a little girl, her beloved stuffed animal, and a laundry day gone awry. The illustrations mix black-and-white photos with colorful cartoons, which really captivated my toddler’s attention. My little one loved pointing out the funny expressions on the characters’ faces, and the story had us both giggling. A must-read for anyone with a toddler who’s just a little too attached to their stuffed animals!

2. Little Michigan by Denise Brennan-Nelson

We picked up Little Michigan during our trip, and it’s the perfect way to introduce toddlers to the beauty of this state! The book is packed with adorable illustrations of landmarks, animals, and fun Michigan facts. My toddler enjoyed looking at the colorful scenes and pointing out the Great Lakes and Michigan’s wildlife. This will definitely be a great book to bring out before future road trips to remind her of all the cool places she’s seen! There are also versions for other states!

Who knew a sticker book could bring so much joy? This simple yet engaging Sticker Book has kept my toddler busy for hours. It’s full of vibrant stickers of animals, shapes, and more! My little one loves placing the stickers in different spots and as well as pointing at each sticker to say every word she knows. I love how it encourages language, creativity, and fine motor skills. Barnyard Dance is a lively and fun book that gets toddlers up and moving! The silly rhymes and adorable farm animals are perfect for active little ones.
