Final Week of Our Spring into Play Challenge
Hi Mama,
Over the weekend, Emi turned two, and part of me can’t believe I have a two-year-old! But another part of me looks back at all the sweet moments we’ve shared and thinks, we’ve had a pretty amazing time.
I’ve cherished every bit of our first two years together, and it’s my hope that I get to savor this third year just as much. One was truly special, and I have a feeling two will be terrific.
To my little bear—may your curiosity continue to blossom, and may I always be up to the task of guiding you as you explore this big, beautiful world. 💛
Now, let’s wrap up our Spring into Play Challenge with one last fun-filled week!
In joyful motherhood,
Liz
Week 4: Spring Activities 🌷
These activities will help your toddler observe, explore, and connect with nature as spring unfolds.
🐇 Bunny Hop Race – Toddlers love to move, and hopping like a bunny is a great way to burn energy while strengthening balance and coordination. You can make it even more fun by setting up a start and finish line or hopping over soft obstacles!
🐑 Sheep Cotton Ball Craft – Little hands get a fine motor workout with this simple glue-and-stick craft. Let them squish the cotton balls, feel the textures, and create their fluffy sheep while developing those early grasping and hand-eye coordination skills.
🦆 Duck Waddle Game – Pretend play meets movement! Have your toddler waddle, flap their “wings,” and splash in pretend ponds (or even a real puddle outside!). These playful movements help with gross motor development and body awareness, plus it’s just plain fun.
🪶 Feather Sensory Play – Soft, tickly, floaty—feathers provide a gentle sensory experience that encourages curiosity and exploration. You can let your toddler feel, sort, and blow the feathers or even glue them onto paper for an art project.
🐛 Caterpillar Craft – Whether you use pom-poms, playdough, or even fingerprint painting, this activity lets little ones practice sequencing, pattern recognition, and color sorting while creating their very own wiggly caterpillar.
🌷 Spring Dance Party – Movement + music = a perfect combo for self-expression and joy! Let your toddler spin, sway, and move like flowers in the wind or butterflies fluttering. This is also a great way to work on rhythm, coordination, and confidence.
☀️ Picnic Outside – There’s something so special about eating outdoors. Even a simple snack on a blanket in your backyard feels like an adventure! It’s a great way to practice mindfulness, encourage conversation, and soak in some sunshine.
