03.11.24 Weekly Message

Another week of motherhood, here we go!

This week I want to make sure I am gentle with myself, it's okay not to have all the answers. Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and enjoy the precious moments with your little ones.

Take a deep breath, trust your instincts, and let the joy of motherhood fill your heart.

EAT: Sugar-free brownies? Yes, please! Made a big batch using this recipe yesterday, and they turned out pretty well! They are more cake-like than brownies, but maybe because I used oat flour instead of all-purpose flour and olive oil instead of butter, I skipped the chocolate chips altogether. Still, they are delicious and probably won’t last too long in my fridge.

READ: While I was pregnant I read The Montessori Baby and I loved it! Now that Emi is almost 12 months old, it’s officially time to read The Montessori Toddler. I’m almost done with it and a lot of things don’t apply yet, but I like to get ahead on these things to make sure I’m ready when new developmental milestones come up.

TOSS: High chair with a million nooks and crannies – BYE! When I tell you I was spending an hour every day trying to clean Emi’s chair, I am not kidding! And, no matter how much I scrubbed, it still looked gross. So, I ditched the cute 'aesthetic' chair and embraced the simplicity of this Ikea one. Mama just reclaimed hours of her life!

✔️ Happy Women’s Day! It might require 131 years for the world to eliminate the gender gap, according to this report.

✔️ Last-minute plans, what even is that? 90-day dinner plans are a thing now and I’m all for it!

SOCIAL: Yesterday, we had a lovely playdate in our favorite park. Emi’s best friends M & S were in attendance. We’re trying to make this a weekly thing so fingers crossed it sticks.

MOVEMENT: Our Pickler Set for Emi finally arrived and she is loving it! I’m excited to see her develop her gross motor skills, by doing some climbing. We also padded her whole room using these, so worth it!

SENSORY: I’m trying to convince the only person with a dog I know, to come to the house. If you missed it here are my thoughts on pets.

MUSIC: Emi is obsessed with drums so there will be a lot of that going on this week per usual but I’ll be introducing other instruments this week to our jam sessions. Open to suggestions.

NATURE: This week we’ll be continuing our weekly series of “Meet a Plant” where Emi meets one of our houseplants, and I explain that it hurts the plant when we pull its leaves. 🙃

MINDFULNESS: Can I do yoga with Emi in the room? We’ll find out this week.

LANGUAGE: Emi’s favorite book these last few days has been “Gracias, thanks” which is the first book we read to her when she was in my belly.

That's a wrap for now! Wishing you an amazing week filled with precious moments with your little one.

In joyful motherhood,

Liz
