Toddler Books We Love

My Toddler's Monthly Reading Round-Up

Welcome back to this month’s toddler reading wrap-up! This time around, we’re diving into books that not only bring joy but also introduce little ones to mindfulness, gratitude, and the wonders of nature. My toddler has really connected with these stories, and I think yours will too!

From bilingual gems to calming reads about peace and self-awareness, there’s something here for every moment of your day. Whether you’re snuggling up before bedtime or exploring new ideas together, these books are perfect for sparking curiosity and creativity in your little one.

Let’s dive in!

1. Let’s Grow on an Adventure: Finding Calm in the Joy of Nature

If you and your little one love spending time outdoors, this book is a must! Let’s Grow on an Adventure invites toddlers to explore nature with a focus on mindfulness and calm. The peaceful illustrations drew my toddler in, and we both enjoyed the gentle, rhythmic storytelling. It’s a lovely way to connect with the natural world and wind down after a busy day of play.

2. The Busy Little Squirrel

This is an adorable story about a squirrel preparing for winter, and it’s become a favorite during our morning storytimes. The repetition in the text had my toddler giggling, and she loved pointing out all the animals as the squirrel rushed around collecting food. This book is perfect if you’re looking for something fun and interactive, and it’s also a great way to introduce your little one to the concept of changing seasons.

3. Gracias • Thanks (English and Spanish Edition)

This bilingual book is such a heartwarming celebration of gratitude. It’s filled with beautiful moments that remind us to appreciate the little things, and I love how it switches seamlessly between English and Spanish. My toddler loved the colorful illustrations and even started repeating some of the Spanish words! This one is a great pick if you’re looking to introduce a second language and reinforce gratitude with your little one.

4. Marisol McDonald Doesn't Match / Marisol McDonald no combina

If you’re looking to celebrate individuality, this is the book for you. Marisol is bold, vibrant, and unafraid to be different, which is such an empowering message for little ones. My toddler enjoyed Marisol’s mismatched outfits and playful adventures. It’s a great book to start conversations about embracing uniqueness, plus the bilingual text makes it even more special!

5. Mine, Mine, Mine, Yours!

Sharing is tough, especially for toddlers! Mine, Mine, Mine, Yours! tackles this big lesson with humor and simple language that toddlers can relate to. My little one was immediately drawn to the playful illustrations and enjoyed seeing the characters learn to share by the end of the book. It’s a wonderful read if your toddler is at that stage where “mine!” is a favorite word!

6. I Am Peace: A Book of Mindfulness

We’ve been loving this calming book as part of our bedtime routine. I Am Peace gently introduces mindfulness to toddlers, encouraging them to breathe, center themselves, and find calm in the present moment. The soothing illustrations and easy-to-understand language helped my toddler relax, and it’s been such a helpful tool for winding down after a busy day.

I hope these books bring as much joy, learning, and peace to your reading time as they did to ours. Happy reading!
