Simple Indoors Toddler Activities for the Winter
Hi mama,
Last week was so much fun, I was so happy to share 12 Free Activity Printables in our Facebook group! Thank you to everyone who followed along and joined in the fun. If you missed out, it’s not too late—you can scroll through the group to see all 12 printables and request your favorites. I might be a little slower to respond because I’m packing for our trip to Michigan (and crafting a master plan to keep Emi entertained on the flight—wish me luck!).
We’re also still going strong with our 30-Day Cozy Activity Challenge, and it’s not too late to join in. You can grab the full activity calendar here.
🎁 And, the 12 Days of Free Printables might be over but you can still snag our adorable Holiday Bucket List. Scroll all the way down, refer a friend to subscribe, and it’s yours!
In joyful motherhood,
Liz
Week 3: Indoor Activity Challenge
Week three of our challenge, here we go!
Ice Sensory Play
Emi is so curious about different textures, and ice sensory play is a magical way to introduce her to something cool (literally). You can add a little food coloring to the ice cubes for some color exploration or small natural elements like pinecones. This is such a fun way to talk about temperature, textures, and colors!DIY Play-Dough
Nothing beats homemade play-dough for a snowy afternoon. Consider involving your little one while you make the play dough to turn this activity into a family experience. Bonus: Use fun winter colors like icy blue and snowy white, with a sprinkle of cinnamon or ginger for extra sensory magic.Create a Winter Wonderland Scene
We’re using Emi’s animal figurines, cotton balls for snow, and some craft paper to make a little winter wonderland. It’s a great opportunity for imaginative play and storytelling! You can also recreate a scene from your little one’s favorite book.Winter-Themed Dance Party
Turn up the holiday tunes and let the giggles begin! Emi and I are rocking out to classics like “Jingle Bells” and “Feliz Navidad” every day over here. Dancing helps her build coordination, and it’s an energy burner for those wiggly moments indoors.Play with Snow Globes
Snow globes are pure wonder! Emi’s face lights up when she shakes them, and I love watching her track the glitter as it falls. This is a calm activity that promotes focus and observation. You can hit up a thrift store to grab a few and set them up on a table like a little snow globe museum.Build a Snowman with Craft Supplies
We’re getting creative with cotton balls, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes to make our own snowmen. I know Emi will love picking which buttons and hats to add, and it’s a great way to work on her pincer grip.Winter Dress-Up Play
We’re turning our living room into a cozy winter fashion show! Emi loves putting on her little mittens, hats, boots, and scarves, and it’s a fun way to practice dressing independently.
And remember, you can grab our 12 printable activities available in our new Facebook group.
