Mindfulness For Busy Moms

Different Ways to Relax and Connect With Your Toddler

Hi mama!

As the seasons change and the air cools, it's a perfect reminder to slow down. Fall invites us to reconnect with our inner calm and recharge—you deserve it, mama!

This week, I’m thinking a lot about mindfulness because while we’re busy caring for our little ones, it's just as important to slow down and find moments of joy. Whether it’s taking a few quiet moments in the morning or finding calm at the end of a busy day, these small pockets of peace can make all the difference.

I’m also sharing some mindfulness activities you can enjoy with your little one.

Have a joyful week!

EAT: Fall comfort food can be cozy and healthy! I’ve been loving this Vegetarian Spinach Pumpkin Lasagna. It’s packed with layers of cheese, pumpkin puree, and spinach for an extra veggie boost. Plus, it freezes beautifully, so you can enjoy this delicious, nutritious meal anytime you need it. Click here for the recipe.

READ: If you're craving some calm, I highly recommend How to Love and How to Relax by Thich Nhat Hanh. These short, insightful reads are filled with practical wisdom on finding mindfulness in everyday moments. They're the perfect reminder to slow down and show yourself some love amidst the daily hustle.

HOME: Fall is the perfect time to create cozy, clutter-free spaces. I've been focusing on decluttering little areas around the house, adding warm blankets, and creating small, inviting nooks. A tidy, cozy space makes such a difference in how your home feels, and it brings a sense of calm we all need. It's like a warm hug for your mind and spirit!

MUSIC: Music is a wonderful way for our little ones to relax and enjoy the moment. Emi and I love to have dance parties, but we also enjoy playing calming instruments together. Emi's favorite is her wave drum, which has the most soothing ocean sound.

LANGUAGE: We adore the book "I Am Peace" by Susan Verde. It’s a beautifully simple book that introduces mindfulness to little ones. Highly recommend if you're looking to add a peaceful vibe to our reading routine.

MINDFULNESS: I can’t talk mindfulness without sharing our monthly affirmations! Click here to download your October affirmations.

NATURE: Observing nature can be such a mindful activity. We recently spent a few days in the countryside, and during our walks, we found some beautiful rocks and minerals. Emi has been enjoying studying their different textures, arranging them, and moving them all around the house. You can create a similar experience for your little one by offering them interesting rocks and pairing the activity with a fun book.

ART: Nature mandalas! You can collect leaves, flowers, and other natural treasures, then create beautiful nature mandalas together. The thoughtful, repetitive process of arranging these materials is a meditative practice that can help you and your little one connect with nature. Check out this simple guide.
